Wow. Wee. Woa. Woo. This has to have been, bar none, the easiest and most satisfying car purchase of my life. So many previous forays into auto sales have been nightmares of lost deposits and manipulative selling practices. I shudder to think how much money I have lost in the process over the years. My last car was an impulse buy - a move I have come to regret from the repair bills it has racked up especially in the last couple of years. I was determined to avoid that mistake this time around and began my research early. After months of reading reviews and dozens of test-drives I decided that a Subaru Outback was the best fit for my needs. Luckily for me I found a referral to CarWoo! on CarBuyingTips.com early on. Being able to hand over the most dreaded part of the whole process (the haggling, the mind-games, the hostility, the repeated trips back and forth to several different dealers) to CarWoo! was an incredible relief. I was amazed by the savings and delighted that one of the offers came from one of the highest rated Subaru stores on DealerRater.com. The agreed price was $1965 lower than the MSRP. I suppose if I had been patient enough to wait for a few more offers I might have been able to get a lower price, but the numbers were consistent enough with Edmunds and TrueCar guidelines. So happy that I won't have to repair the current car through another winter. This was so easy. In fact, the most stressful moment was the realization that Absent-Minded Professor left his wallet on his desk at school, so the trip to the dealer to sign the paperwork had to include a detour to my classroom. The conversations at the dealership were relaxed, friendly, and pressure-free. My partner summed it up well: "he didn't sell you a car. You bought it from him." We take delivery on Tuesday. "Just wanted to thank you for an altogether pleasant and vey productive experience. I found the dealer I selected to be eager to earn my business, even though he started with a distance disadvantage. He was willing to make the effort to find the exact car I wanted, so I wasn't forced to settle for something less. The price ended up only $500 above his true cost and over $1,300 below dealer invoice. I have never heard of such a deal! He was also willing to accomodate a couple of week delay in delivery since I have a trip planned to his area soon and can avoid shipping costs.
