The cars we drive every day provide countless hours of fun, and fill our heads with oversized memories that cannot be replicated anywhere else. This is a celebration of cars, for those who drive them. Just to be nominated is a feat that is by no means small. However, as we have many deserving nameplates worthy of recognition, please hold your applause until the end of the article. Or don’t; you’re probably not reading this in a theatre. And so without further ado, we have our first Wooscar to hand out, for-
Best Supporting Vehicle
The Nominees are- Ford Fusion, Chevrolet Cruze, Audi A6, Hyundai Elantra, Audi A8
And the winner is- Ford Fusion
Alongside the F-150, is there any better 1-2 punch out there? Fusion is proof that one brand can do two very different vehicles very well.
Best Male Vehicle
The Nominees are- Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Lamborghini Aventador, Dodge Challenger SRT8, Ram 1500
And the winner is- Ford F-150
The F-150’s sales numbers prove that the Ford truck is still America’s leading heartthrob.
Best Female Vehicle
The Nominees Are- Ford Fiesta Sedan/Hatchback, FIAT 500, Audi A4, Volkswagen Tiguan, Mercedes Benz E-Class Sedan
And the winner is- Audi A4
It’s got class, beauty, and impeccable performance. The A4 has a style that’s simply irresistible.
Best Brand Direction
The Nominees Are- GM, Hyundai, Audi, Chrysler, Chevrolet
And the winner is- Hyundai
In maybe the closest category, Hyundai gets the nod because it’s impossible not to mention the once downtrodden brand within today’s automotive world. Hyundai is proof that great value doesn’t always equal the most money spent, and that’s worth a Wooscar win.
This is where we would have done an informative segment on how the Wooscar trophy is made, but it doesn’t physically exist yet. So on we go.
Best Vehicle Sound
The Nominees Are- Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, Aston Martin V12 Vantage, Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS, Ferrari 458 Italia (2011 model), Toyota Prius
And the winner is- Aston Martin V12 Vantage

Best Visual Effect
The Nominees Are- Lexus LFA, Audi A5, Jaguar XKR, Lamborghini Aventador, Ford SVT Raptor
And the winner is- Lamborghini Aventador
Let’s forget the performance specs for 2.9 seconds, and take a moment to simply admire Aventador’s breathtaking beauty.
We’ve now come to the standard sappy suck-up award, placed awkwardly in the middle of the festivities. And so without further ado, the-
Lifetime Achievement Award
Our honorary inductee for 2012 has been christened as the best-selling nameplate of all time, a testament to its economic simplicity. Give Corolla a subtle nod of respect, and let’s move on please.
Folks, no commercial breaks mean that the nerves stay on end. Next up we have the-
Best Technological Breakthrough
The Nominees Are- Audi A6, BMW 5-Series, Nissan LEAF, Jaguar XJ Supersport, Bentley Continental Supersports Coupe
And the winner is- Nissan LEAF
With a highly debatable win, the LEAF claims victory due to its captivating, and innovative, stance on alternative fuel efforts.
Best Original Nameplate
The Nominees Are- Hyundai Veloster, Chevrolet Sonic Hatchback/Sedan, FIAT 500 (In on foreign entry technicality), Range Rover Evoque, Lamborghini Aventador
And the winner is- Chevrolet Sonic
Sonic proves that Chevy can do small well, and the well-received Sonic should be an affordable yet appealing subcompact for years to come.
And now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for.
Best Overall Vehicle, 2011
The Nominees Are- Audi A6, Lamborghini Aventador, Ford F-150, Nissan LEAF, Hyundai Elantra
And the winner is- Lamborghini Aventador
The finale contains justifiably the most varied selection of nameplates. Aventador takes top honors for its ability to make true a reality that we could only once dream about as children. A truly great car, at a truly great cost…
