CarWoo! is uber uber excited to officially announce our budding friendship (and partnership) with DealerRater. Now consumer visitors to DealerRater.com will have the opportunity to sign up from CarWoo! directly from that site. Continue reading
Last October, CarWoo! officially launched. In the year since, we’ve learned so much about what the marketplace meant for car dealers and car buyers. We’ve come to understand, even more, the challenges car buyers face when negotiating for the best deal on their new car. We’ve also learned about many issues that prevent car dealers and car buyers from engaging on an even playing field.
Today, we’re announcing a completely new side of the CarWoo! product that will enable dealers in the CarWoo! Marketplace not only to create the best possible experience for their customers, but also to turn “I’ll be back” customers into satisfied car buyers. CarWoo!’s freemium model debuts with Dealer Plus. While most of my posts cover cars, how to buy cars, why you should buy this car and should not buy that car, what cars come with what seasons, what to name your cars (wait? have I done that one yet? because I so need to), car soup, car salad, fried cars, baked cars, etc., it’s also important to get a little “meta” every once in a while and analyze how we’re spreading the word about CarWoo!
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the 20 Something Bloggers Summit. It was the first conference this network has put together, so the attendee list was relatively small. But the 20sb Summit was the most educational and fun conferences I’ve attended yet (srsly. It was that awesome.) And I learned a lot. And viking hats were involved. Continue reading
Honda continues to impress us with the versatility and reliability of their cars. With 8 models all under 40,000 and a number of benefits, the Pilot turns out to be a pretty sweet car, and customers also agree! The Honda Pilot was one of the most purchased CarWoo! cars of July. It’s even earned the Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2) rating from the California Air Resources Board. Here’s some of the details on why we chose this car for August.
If you’re hanging out around the Golden Gate Bridge at, say, 9:30am on September 24th, you may notice something a bit odd. Like a police car escorting 50 Ferraris across the bridge. And a helicopter. And the coolest part is – the entire event is for the benefit of some awesome San Francisco area kids. Continue reading

Optimizing websites is fascinating to me. It amazes me that assumptions are almost always wrong. I’m an engineer playing CEO so when I can make a hypothesis and then measure the results, I’m loving my work. So over the past few months I’ve been continuing our efforts on our site and working on different optimization theories. Here are two of the most interesting results… go ahead and copy the ideas… especially if you’re a competitor. You’ll always be a couple iterations behind us optimizing our site. (This tends to happen to us).
What car has the reliability of a trusted brand, safety features out the wazoo, and is July’s best selling car on CarWoo! under 20K?
Here’s a hint:
This Honda will not only fit into your budget and those tiny city-street parking spaces, but it fits up to ten beverages and 35 highway miles in one gallon of gas.
These are only a few of the reasons we’ve dubbed the Honda Fit this month’s CarWoo! Fan Favorite.
Meet Kenneth Chen. Kenneth was one of our first loyal Twitter followers, and he used CarWoo! to help his California-based parents buy a new car in November of 2010. Kenneth came to the CarWoo! headquarters for a visit in April 2011 before returning to his recently adopted country, Sweden. Since he’s such a happy CarWoo! customer, I asked Kenneth if he would mind contributing to our blog in the form of a Q&A about his CarWoo! car buying experience. Enjoy: Continue reading
The advent of the internet brought changes to many American rituals. Remember holiday shopping before Cyber Monday? Remember CD’s? Classified ads? Stamps? Encyclopedias?
Why then, are most consumers buying a new car exactly like their fathers did 20 years ago, and their grandfathers did 20 years before that?
