In business school, professors like to proclaim that “there is no such thing as a free lunch.” I hated that saying (and still do), because Boston University gave us a bunch of free lunches when we had seminars or when they threw us happy hours. I also got a ton of free lunches when I worked for a mortgage company and everyone was buying all those houses back in 2002 and 2003; our parent company was making so much money we had catered lunches in our kitchens every day. It was magical. Continue reading

Nissan Terra Previewed; Resembles Beasts from The Hunger Games and Ghostbusters
The conceptual Nissan Terra SUV is ULTRA modern. Instead of rounded wheel arches, it uses a square design. Instead of gasoline and electricity, it uses a hydrogen fuel cell to power its three electric motors. There are no driveshafts in the Terra; an electric motor controls the wheels up front, while in-wheel electric motors at the rear provide additional power and traction. And what has Nissan done without the need for a driveshaft and its fancy technology? Continue reading

Fast Drivers Make Their Way From San Antonio to Austin and the Mustang Goes to Europe
We wrote about this awhile back, how the great nation of Texas was opening its highways a bit (while keeping its borders closed) by ticking up its speed limits on a prominent stretch of highway to 85 miles per hour. While Texas would never, ever in a million Texas nights admit to it, how can the free-flowing highways of Germany’s 7,965 miles of autobahn not have played a part in the state’s decision? Texas loves to be bigger than everyone, and the new 85 mph zone tops the autobahn’s 81 mph “suggested” limit. Continue reading
