Don’t let the name fool you; there are plenty to go around. But that doesn’t mean you should wait on it, because the Kia Optima Limited adds the luxury extras we all know and love to an already solid midsize sedan. Check it out.
Kia Optima Limited Feature Highlights
To create an Optima Limited, you must take an Optima SX and add either a Limited or Chrome Limited Package, both starting at $34,500- thus transforming the trim into the Optima SXL. The SXL, or Limited, designation means you’re slapping on aesthetic features and extra technology to the regular Optima shell. This includes a navigation/SiriusXM/backup camera package and electronic parking brake (which is pretty convenient) on the tech side and 18” chrome wheels, chrome side sills, rear spoiler, and red brake calipers for show. On the inside you get leather seats and wood trim. If you choose the Limited Chrome package you’ll also receive chrome outside mirrors- SXL badging finishes off the look. Supermodel and rock band remain commercial exclusives for the time being.
Since the Limited is essentially an Optima sedan…optimized you’ll receive the familiar turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine paired nicely with 34 highway MPG, room for five, and an all-around sense of solidity- due in part by Optima’s flawless safety scores.
Wanna make the Optima Limited your reality? All it takes is a click.
Kia Optima Limited Performance
Every Limited harnesses a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine capable of 274 horsepower and 269 lb.-ft. of torque. The direct injection engine utilizes a 6-speed Sportmatic transmission with both automatic and manual gearshift tap modes. Put together, drivers can accelerate Optima Limited from 0 to 60 in about 6 ½ seconds. Kia has also added an Active Eco System which lets you know when optimum fuel efficiency is achieved.
Kia Optima Limited Fuel Economy
What is Optima’s optimum? The EPA has given Optima Limited 22/34/26 (city/highway/combined) MPG- numbers that, when drivers throttle down, allow everyday driving to be fiscally accomplished.
Kia Optima Limited Interior Highlights
The regular Optima already offers impressive feature highlights and the Limited just keeps going- and it helps that everything is within easy reach. Opting for the Limited really means you’re getting a bit of extra class inside; upscale items like heated & ventilated front seats, alloy pedals, and heated back bottoms combine with leather, wood, and chrome features for a mix somewhere between comfort and accomplishment. The standard panoramic sunroof gives everything a nice, natural hue- though rear headroom can get dicey with taller passengers. At just under 35 inches, backseat legroom is decent enough for most, and trunk space measures a nice 15.4 cubic feet.
Kia Optima Limited Safety
All 2012 Limited models come standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability/traction control, and six airbags. The Limited designation also means you’re getting a rearview camera and LED daytime running lights. You even get a first aid kit, because hey, you never know.
Not just a pretty face, Optima also excels in crash testing. The NHTSA gives it an almost unheard of 5/5 stars across the board (for frontal, side, and rollover strength) and it comes as no surprise that the IIHS makes it a 2012 Top Safety Pick.
Kia Optima Limited Summary
Optima Limited’s $34,500 price tag endorses the fact that it’s built for a crowd that deals almost exclusively with luxury. Is this year’s kick to the face enough to snap Lexus and Audi snobs out of their branded love affairs? Limited’s unique style, tech additions, strong safety marks, and balance of performance & fuel economy are more than enough to turn a few heads.
Wake up to the 2012 Kia Optima Limited at the place where dreams always come true, CarWoo!
