George Clooney to Auction Off His Tesla

Who wouldn’t want to buy a car George Clooney owned? If you’re in the Pebble Beach area on August 19th, you’ll get your chance.

The Gooding and Co. Pebble Beach Auction will be offering Clooney’s 2008 Tesla Roadster to the highest bidder. It’s one of the earliest production models of the car; it’s electric and only has two seats. Auction prognosticators anticipate the car to go for (ballpark figure here) between $100,000 and $125,000.

That’s just about the price of a new Tesla. But why the heck would you buy a new Tesla when you can have one that Clooney drove around in? It’s practically brand new; there’s only 1,700 miles on the odometer, and it has a serial number of 0008, leading me to believe that this was the eighth Roadster that Tesla produced. (Some people really care about those things, and likely the type of person who’d be at the Pebble Beach Auction.)

We’re trying to confirm if Clooney’s coolness will jump from the seats onto the auction winner.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the Satellite Sentinel Project, a non-profit organization George founded to help monitor the borders of Sudan and try and prevent civil war in the country.

So you can buy a sleek, black electric Tesla owned by a stand-up, classy celebrity and you don’t have to feel bad about spending the money because you’re being philanthropic.

Then you can go play a round at the Pebble Beach golf course (at the discounted price of $700 for 18 holes), because that’s what you do when you buy George Clooney’s car. You immediately go play golf at Pebble Beach and brag about your driver size.
