Honda continues to impress us with the versatility and reliability of their cars. With 8 models all under 40,000 and a number of benefits, the Pilot turns out to be a pretty sweet car, and customers also agree! The Honda Pilot was one of the most purchased CarWoo! cars of July. It’s even earned the Ultra-Low-Emission Vehicle (ULEV-2) rating from the California Air Resources Board. Here’s some of the details on why we chose this car for August.
Honda Pilot Size:
The Pilot is particularly impressive for its roominess. It’s officially stated to be able to carry 8 people, which it easily accomplishes – in fact, you could fit even more people in the back! At the same time, the Pilot’s exterior is deceptively slim for a hauler of its capacity, whereas a comparable Ford model, for example, feels like a behemoth both in and out. If you’re looking for a sizable yet managable crossover, the Pilot is an excellent option. It’s especially well-suited for long roadtrips! It’s also equally well-suited for a well-funded hollywood movie with a begrudging protagonist, a chattery, over-the-top sidekick on a wacky odyssey brought about by well-placed circumstantial events. Wacky hijinks may or may not ensue.
Honda Pilot Power and Adeptness
With a V6 engine providing 250 horsepower, 4 wheel drive/suspension system, there’s not much more you’d ask for from a crossover. Are you heading up a mountain? The Pilot can perform just as easily lugging gear up a mountain as it does hauling kids to their soccer game. Towing capability, 87 cubic feet of space, and 253 lb-ft of torque will get you a long, long ways. We are, however, disappointed to have to quash the rumors that the Pilot is fueled by a mixture of honey oats and a go-gurt.
Honda Pilot Style
The Pilot is a hell of a sweet looking crossover – on the outside, its strong, carved front is complemented by its boxy but smooth body that maintains a compact figure while still being able to impress with size. Are you looking for an affordable vehicle that still has the feeling of luxury and elegance? How ’bout you, ergonomics, you say? And you, you like turtles? Everybody can win! The interior is an equally impressive work in balancing style and substance; The sunk dash is easy on the eyes, and the smooth curves dominate everything from the windows to the seats, everything flows organically, which makes for a very enjoyable ride. Personally speaking, Honda is one of my favorite brands because they pay attention to creating a car around the driver.
These factors all add up to a great crossover with many applications, fit for whatever you need to throw at it; my parents own one, as a matter of fact, so I can personally testify to this! For a more thorough breakdown of the Pilot, check out our resident car reviewer, Cam’s review here.
