Best Sports Cars for Women

It’s like sports cars were made for women, designed especially with us in mind. There’s the looks, the speed, and the power that we love in a pair of running shoes, a job, or a handbag – why wouldn’t we demand the same of our cars? A sports car used to come across as a status symbol reserved strictly for men, but more women are finding lots to love about these high-performance machines. And to that end, for all of you ladies out there contemplating your next sports car purchase, I give you a little insight into my best sports cars for women list.

Top Pick in Best Sports Cars for Women – Nissan 370Z

The Nissan 370Z is a stunner, for sure, but that’s not it’s only draw, or the reason that it landed on a list of best sports cars for women. Reviewers call the Z’s handling “athletic,” which exciting to read, if you like being very involved in your driving experience. Which I do. For a weekend of windows-open, back-road-driving, music-blaring free wheeling, a car with heavyweight performance and athletic handling is exactly the way to go. For the financially savvy, you’ll be happy to know that the Z is an excellent value, more affordable than comparable performers in its class. Both frugal and fully-equipped – a win/win in any sense.

First Runner-Up in Best Sports Cars for Women – Audi TT

The thing I love so much about the Audi TT is that it’s a sports car, but it isn’t a screamer. It’s not a vroom vroom, kick-up-the-dust kind of sports car, it’s more refined. It’s exactly the kind of car I see a confident, high-powered executive slipping into after a long day of work, her heels matching the exterior paint job. It’s curvy and sleek, with, according to reviewers, one of the most upscale and plush interiors in its class. Not only that, it comes equipped with all-wheel drive, one of the very few sports cars that can say that. What could be more perfect for the sophisticated woman with varied interests? If you need a well-rounded sports car that looks as good as it acts, the TT gets a solid spot on my best sports cars for women list.

Second Runner-Up in Best Sports Cars for Women – Hyundai Genesis Coupe

Of course we all like options, everyone loves some extra perks, but on the best sports cars for women list, an impressive array of standard features is certainly an eye-catcher. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe definitely shines in that area, boasting a standard selection of some pretty choice options – ones that cost a little extra coin in its competitors. One choice that you can opt for in the Genesis is a V6 engine, just that extra punch of power you need to get this Betty Roadster on her feet and running with the big dogs. It also starts at an affordable price point, ensuring that we can all envision ourselves in a Genesis wherever our final destination might be.

I think the Mazda MX–5 deserves a mention in this as being a fun, affordable, and classic sports car for women and men. It’s design is reminiscent of the classic british roadsters from the golden age of motoring. It’s RWD nature, light weight, responsive 6-spd gearbox, near perfect 50/50 front-to-rear balance, and adequate 2.0L 4 inline cylinder (170 bhp). With a starting price tag that is about the same as the Hyundai Genesis coupe, but focuses more on handling than brute power.

    P.S
It’s also been a crowd pleaser for track day people, sunday drivers, car reviewers (Car & Driver, Consumer Report, etc.)
