Deals on cars improve as the month draws to a close. When the end of the month is also associated with a holiday, deals get even better. As the end of May approaches, so does the reality of hitting monthly targets for bonuses and incentives and so prices get better.

Based on data collected in the CarWoo! MarketPlace (the best way to buy a new car), which processes thousands of transactions each week, the Nissan Quest and the Kia Optima, will be among the best deals this month. MarketPlace projections show that the Quest will be available as much as 16% off MSRP at the end of May and the Optima will be offered for approximately 10% off.

The Quest discount is partially explained by buyer incentives that go as high as 2.9% through the end of May. In addition, Nissan continues to be aggressive in the minivan market to try and claim market share from the more popular Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey. Prices among all Japanese brands continue to be more aggressive than in the past as they continue their market share recovery from last year’s highly disruptive tsunami.

Buyers can expect to find the Hyundai Sonata and Ford Explorer both available at a 7% discount, while the Honda CR-V and Toyota Camry Hybrid should be on lots at around 4% below MSRP.
