Best Cars for Tall Women

My favorite part about sussing out the best cars for tall women is that I get to see which makes and models are really giving thought to interior room. You don’t have to be a tall person to appreciate a little extra room in your living room on wheels, but if you’re a tall woman, then it’s a non-negotiable in your new car. What should also be a non-negotible in a new car is something that will not embarrass you in front of your friends and gets more than 10 mpg. Just because you are a statuesque lady does not mean you need to drive something meant for hauling cattle. So here are my three picks for the best cars for tall women.

Top Pick in Best Cars for Tall Women: Honda Accord LX

The best part about the Honda Accord LX is that it’s a normal-sized sedan, something that will come as a huge relief to those of you elegantly tall lovelies who are used to being pointed in the direction of lumbering and unattractive vehicles. Have no fear, the Accord LX boasts the same amount of interior driver’s side room as some much larger vehicles, but you can still parallel park it on a city street. Versatile, I call it. The Accord LX gives 41.4” of headroom and 42.5” legroom in the front, which is a couple inches more than even some of its other trims. The Accord LX also looks like the more sophisticated older sister of the Civic, which will make it a favorite in cars for tall women who pride themselves on style.

First Runner-Up in Best Cars for Tall Women: Ford Flex

I’m a pretty big fan of the styling on the Ford Flex – I think it manages to look sophisticated and rugged at the same time, which, as Daniel Craig will tell you, is a difficult look to pull off. The Flex is an excellent choice in cars for tall women who want a vehicle that’s a little larger – something that could handle a trip to Ikea and a Labrador Retriever. With head room at 41.8” and leg room at 40.8 in the front row, there’s plenty of room to accommodate lanky drivers, but the second and third rows are roomy enough to keep additional passengers from feeling compressed. It’s a car, after all, not a sardine can, and the Flex will keep the whole team feeling comfy.

Second Runner-Up in Best Cars for Tall Women: Nissan Murano

The Nissan Murano is a sporty looking little ride, which is excellent for ladies with height who want sporty without too much extra girth. The Murano isn’t a hulking ride – it manages to be formidable without being overbearing. The drawback of the Murano is that in order to get the most head room possible up front, you’ll have to forgo the moonroof. However, this is a great vehicle to share, since you have the option of getting driver’s seat and steering wheel position memory, so it’ll rank high in cars for tall women who have partners or teenage children that like to take their ride out for a spin on occasion. No more obnoxious readjusting!
