Auto News – U.K. Study Finds Women to be the Dominant Parking Sex

Though gender studies determining which sex is better at “going to the park”, “hitting a home run in a park” (also known as “parking it”), and “doing illicit things while parked in a car” have yet to be conducted, the U.K. has determined, without question, that women are definitely a little bit better at parking cars than men.

(CarWoo’s got you covered if you want to buy a new car and start the illicit parking study yourself. Click here.)

The U.K.’s National Car Parks just published the NCP Parking report, aggregating parking data from 2500 U.K. drivers that measured different aspects of parking including:

-           Appropriate space finding speed

-           Good or very good ‘pre-parking pose’ (I have no idea what the hell this means.)

-           Reverse into space

-           Forward into space

-           Speed of maneuver

-           Reposition shuffle (Related to the pre-parking pose?)

-           Central finish (This is hilarious.)

Then the NCP determined a parking coefficient from the results.  They found that women had the higher coefficient! 13.4 for the ladies to a mere 12.3 for the guys. This means, unequivocally, women are better parkers. No doubt about it. Iron-freakin’-clad. They have the higher coefficient!

In addition to solving this divisive societal problem, the NCP has incorporated some of the most inadvertently outlandish innuendos to ever grace a car study. For instance:

“Intriguingly, the study noticed that men also love to ‘pose park’ when accompanied by a female passenger by opting to squeeze into a small space when a bigger one is available.”

And more:

“Men were also happier with the position of their cars once in the space. Only 29% chose to start ‘repositioning’ the car, while over half (56%) of women found themselves shuffling forwards and backwards to try and obtain a better final position.

However, despite this confidence by men, it seems the ‘female shuffle’ pays dividends as women beat men hands down in the final position of the vehicle.”

Please, please, please do more studies for us, NCP.
