Chances are you watched the Super Bowl and saw how clutch the New York Giants’ Eli Manning is. Eli won the M.V.P, helping to pierce the heart of New England by ripping a tight-spiral bulls-eye right through Boston, Cambridge, Worcester and Portland, and further tarnishing the Belichick/Brady veneer. They are, without doubt, the most despised head coach/QB duo in NFL history. And quite the juxtaposition to the red-faced Coughlin and Eli Manning-faced Eli Manning.
Heroic ol’ Eli, besting that pretty face of Tom Brady for the second time in five years, was awarded a brand new 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Convertible for his MVP-performance. And is it any surprise that Eli would sport the Eli Manning Face when posing for a picture in front of his new prize?
No, it’s not.
The Eli Manning Face is like Zen, if it’s not Zen itself. Because, like Zen, it’s impossible to describe Zen with words; one knows it instinctively, like one knows water is cold. Oh, right, the Eli Manning Face again.
Like Zen, it’s always changing, but never changing. It moves with the rhythm of everything and nothing. What is that I’m feeling? Yes. The Eli Manning Face.
It’s form and path are limitless, seeming to be completely random, but adapting perfectly to its surroundings like a leaf falling to rest in autumn on a lazy river, just as it needs to. The Eli Manning Face will be what it will be. The Eli Manning Face will go where it will go.
And the Eli Manning Face went exactly where it needed to when looking at the Eli Manning Face’s new corvette.
