Tennessee Installs First EV Charging Station
Drink all day. Rock all night. The law come to get you if you don’t walk right. Got a letter this morning, baby, all it read, you better head back to Tennessee, Jed.
If you’re Jed and have an electric car, and you happen to be driving along a 425 mile stretch of interstate that connects Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga, then you don’t have any more consternation about charging your EV. Cracker Barrel and ECOtality have opened the first of twelve planned stations in the “Tennessee Triangle”. Chargers are able to crank up that battery to eighty percent capacity in half an hour while they eat at the Cracker Barrel in Lebanon. It’s rather ingenious where these electric charging stations are being placed in comparison to the randomly scattered, faceless, highly depressing gas station network that is currently in use in the U.S.
For those unaware, the beginning of this post was lyrics taken from a nice little Grateful Dead tune called…Tennessee Jed. (Punctuation, mine, up top.)
“Tennessee, Tennessee, there ain’t no place I’d rather be
Baby won’t you carry meeeeeee…back to Tennessee”
Now it’s a lot easier in your newly charge-ready cars to get around in that fine state.
