Ford to Debut a New Car in…India!
Back in September, Ford broke ground on a brand new billion dollar assembly and engine plant in India. In that same month, Ford realized its sales were forty percent higher than last year. Now, with the 1.4 million expected visitors for the 11th New Delhi Auto Expo (happening at the same time as the North American International Auto Show in Detroit during the second week of January), Ford is upping its Indian ante.
For the first time, Ford is debuting a global-release vehicle in India. Meaning a brand new Ford will be seen for the first time by the burgeoning Indian auto market before anybody else. Alongside this new ride, Ford will show eleven additional cars in new Delhi at their new “interactive display area.” How interactive? Let’s just say a local magician will be performing safety stories in the display area. And no, I have no idea what that means (but it’s true). Ford also plans on showing the new Ford Fiesta and the older Fiesta, rebranded for the Indian market as the Ford Classic.
Adding to the intrigue (and confusion) is what the actual car is; the web has only been privy to the following picture released by Ford on the Ford India website:
Most of the speculation has it pegged as a kinda sorta SUV type.
How do you say new car buying or new car negotiating in Hindi? CarWoo.
Well, someday…
