Jeep Speak 101

Hang around a Jeep long enough and learn to recognize these characteristics:

PERSONALITY.  True love is an appreciated vehicle.  Jeeps are best served utilized, whether in commute or off road, exteriors changing color due to Jackson Pollack inspired mud art.  A second coat of paint consists of something between medium brown pond water and classic dirt.  Of course a wash and wax looks nice too.  Become unique by glossing over thousands of Jeep accessories that attach like adult Legos, feeding the term ‘multiple personality.’

The old Jeep was faded from sun damage and the wounds coming from battles with the terrain, except for its headlights which had been replaced and were now the color of the sun.

VERSATILITY.  Jeeps are the ultimate transformer car.  Take it out for the morning breeze sans top, reattach in the afternoon for the chaos of an approaching storm.  It’s capable in all weather conditions, sun to snow.  No element catches Jeep off guard.  Mountains, beaches, city pavement are all open roads to Jeep’s proven tread.  If versatile had a price, it’d be $25,545- MSRP for Wrangler Unlimited.

The Jeep had braved the elements for some time now and was worn yet remained fierce in its aged wisdom.

Day trips had been lived, documented and forgotten and born again.

RELIABILITY.  Jeep is the off road vehicle.  Born by military inspiration it’s also refined enough to use as everyday commuter (2011 Compass gets 29 hwy MPG).  And simple: turn ignition for work or play.  Jeep gets you safely from point A to B and back, yes, but they’re all fun to drive too.

The old Jeep had wisdom.  It knew the streets and streets knew it.  When tires contacted pavement or dirt, it felt familiarity with each.  There was no territory unknown.

COMFORTABILITY.  Jeeps resemble significant others.  We caress sensual curves, Facebook shared vacations photos, and when it gets hot tops come off.  Like favorite jeans, Jeeps fit better after each use.  We treat them better than ourselves.  And Awards like Grand Cherokee’s Top Safety Pick make us feel safe inside them. 

On those oft repetitious days, the Jeep only dreamed of adventure.

ADVENTURE.  Chances are good most Jeep owners will trek flat, paved roads a majority of the time.  But names like Liberty and Patriot serve up dreams of greater things.  Plus, a trip to the supermarket can be anything but ordinary.  Whatever the job, Jeep does it.
